In
order to upgrade your Sipura phone adapter to work with your
BroadVoice service, please follow these instructions to make
the necessary configuration change(s):
- Confirm that the power is plugged into the adapter
and delivering power.
- Pick up the phone and dial *
* * * 7 3 7 3 8 #, the
press 1 if asked to confirm.
• This will push a factory reset of the
adapter.
- Hang up the phone.
- Be prepared to write down an IP address
- Pick up phone again and dial *
* * * 1 1 0 # to get
the current DHCP provided IP address of the adapter on
your network.
- In a browser copy and paste the following into the
address bar with the IP ADDRESS from step 4 where indicated
but without the <<>>:
For the Sipura 1000,1001, and 2000
http://<<IPADDRESS>>/admin/upgrade?http://config.broadvoice.com:8080/spa2k-2.0.10e.bin
For the Sipura 3000
http://<<IPADDRESS>>/admin/upgrade?http://config.broadvoice.com:8080/spa3k-2.0.8.bin
- The light on the box should blink to indicate an upgrade
process. Please do not interrupt the blinking process.
It is best to wait a full 3 minutes before picking up
the phone again.
- The Sipura configuration page will turn white with
an option to click on either Basic or Advanced. Once
the flashing status light has halted completely and is
no longer illuminated, click on Advanced.
- Click on the Provisioning tab.
- In the Profile Rule field, hi-light and delete any
of its contents.
- Hi-light, copy and paste the following string into
the now empty Profile Rule field:
http://config.broadvoice.com:8080/$MA.cfg
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Submit
all Changes.
- The screen will turn white with a short message stating “SPA
is updating your configuration. Unit may reset” and
that the Sipura configuration page will return in 5 seconds.
- If the page returns with a request for a User Login
and Password, simply click Cancel and return to the Sipura
configuration page browser.
- Power cycle your Sipura adapter by pulling out the
power cord, waiting 10 seconds, and replacing the power
cord.
- The status light on your Siprua adapter will blink
for approximately 15 seconds, please do not interrupt
this process by picking up you telephone handset.
- When the status light has halted all blinking your
adapter should now be fully configured and your phone
should now have a dial tone.
Troubleshooting:
If your phone is not receiving dial tone:
- Power cycle your Sipura adapter by pulling out the
power cord, waiting one minute, and replacing the power
cord.
- Confirm that the device is receiving IP
Pick up phone again and dial *
* * * 1 1 0 # to get
the current DHCP provided IP address of the adapter
on your network.
- If no IP address is discernable, reboot your entire
network including modem, router/switch and the Sipura
adapter in that order.
- Contact BroadVoice Customer Care.
