Installation & Set-up

Battery ContactsSimply plug one end of your power supply into the base of the WISIP cradle charger and plug the other end into an electrical outlet.

To charge your phone, simply place the WISIP phone in the cradle, making sure that the base of the phone comes into contact with the electrical contacts on the cradle charger.
The battery strength indicator in the upper right of the display scrolls when the phone is properly seated in the charger and stops scrolling when fully charged. The BroadVoice WISIP battery fully charges in about 5 hours.

Battery Removal and Installation:
The battery for your BroadVoice WISIP phone can be easily accessed for removal or installation. To access the battery remove the rear cover by holding the phone in the palm of one hand and, using the thumb of your other hand, pressing down and sliding the cover off the unit. To remove battery, pull on the tab attached to the battery.

To install the battery, position the battery in the compartment and then press down on the battery to seat it fully into the battery compartment. Then replace the rear cover by sliding it into place.

To use your WISIP phone, you must turn it on, associate the phone with an access point (AP) and register the phone with BroadVoice. Once this process is completed, you can immediately start making calls. In most cases, when you turn the unit on for the first time, this whole process takes place automatically in a very short time. If you have turned on the phone and BroadVoice Registered appears, then the phone has successfully associated with an AP, obtained an IP address and registered with BroadVoice, and you can start using the phone. Otherwise, you will have to perform a Wireless Scan.

Wireless Scan:

  1. Select any arrow key and then select Menu.

  2. Scroll to the Wireless option and select Scan. A message similar to Searching WLAN AP appears to indicate the WISIP is scanning, and then APs that the WISIP finds are displayed.

  3. Select the appropriate AP and select Select. A message indicates that you successfully selected the AP.

  4. Select Back repeatedly until a message appears to indicate that the system is loading the AP. The WISIP phone then tries to associate with the selected AP and to obtain an IP address from the DHCP server.

  5. If the WISIP unsuccessfully associates with the selected AP, the message Net Fail appears. In this case, repeat steps 1 through 4 to select another AP; otherwise, go to step 6.

  6. If the WISIP phone successfully associates with the selected AP, the unit displays an appropriate message and then displays the message BroadVoice Not Registered. The phone then attempts to associate with BroadVoice; when it is successful, the following message appears: BroadVoice Registered.
