Introduction
The
Pulver WiSIP and Zyxel Prestige 2000W are wireless telephones
that operate over the Internet. They give users the benefits
of Internet telephony, for example cheaper calls, without
the physical restrictions of a fixed Internet connection
i.e. mobility.
Sending compressed voice signals over the Internet is called
Voice
over IP or VoIP. The WiSIP and Prestige are Session Initiated
Protocol (SIP) - based wireless VoIP telephones. SIP is an
internationally
recognized standard for implementing VoIP. The WiSIP and
Prestige allow you to make and receive VoIP calls as long
you are
within range of an IEEE802.11b enabled wireless network.
The WiSIP and Prestige are easy to use and configure via the
LCD display and keypad. You can even set and manage your settings
over the Internet using the WiSIP’s and Prestige's Web
Configurator.

The following is a guide for configuring
the Pulver WiSIP and the Zyxel Prestige2000 telephones for
use with your BroadVoice VoIP service.
The BroadVoice configuration parameters you received at the
time of enrollment will be needed throughout these steps
in order to configure you phone. The table below is a checklist
of additional information needed to assist you in configuring
you phone.

| LABEL |
DESCRIPTION |
| Default Voice Codec |
A voice codec converts voice data to electrical signals
for transmission over a network. Choosing a voice codec
depends on a tradeoff between transmission speed, sound
quality and desired bandwidth usage. Select G.711u. |
| Out Volume(-14~14) |
Select the gain for the microphone onboard the Prestige,
where –14 is the minimum (least sensitive) and
14 is the maximum (most responsive). Select
5. |
| In Volume(-14~14) |
Select the speaker volume on your phone, where –14
is the minimum (quietest) and 14 is the maximum (loudest). Select
-5. |
| Receive Buffer |
A larger receiving buffer allows the Prestige to rearrange
data packets that arrive in the wrong order. Packets
are dropped if they arrive out of order and the receiving
buffer is full. Increasing the buffer size introduces
latency. Too large and a significant delay could be introduced
over a slow connection, too small and the signal may
distort. Select Large. |
| Voice Frame per Packet |
Use smaller packet sizes to reduce the number of speech
frames sent per packet. If a small packet does not reach
its destination is it less significant than if the packet
contained many speech frames. Select Large. |
| DTMF Relay |
Dual Tone Multi-Frequency signals are generated when
you press a key on the Keypad and communicate information
(such as telephone numbers) to the VoIP gateway. Select
Inband. |
| DTMF Payload (0-127) |
This field allows you to set the DTMF payload type.
It is recommended to leave the default setting for this
field. Select 101. |
| SUBMIT |
Click SUBMIT to have the Prestige update to your new
settings. |
| CANCEL |
Click this button to begin configuring this screen
afresh. |
| RESTART |
Click this button to restart the Prestige and have
your configuration changes take affect only after ALL
parameter changes and settings are entered, submitted
and saved. |
| SAVE |
Click this button to save your changes without restarting
the Prestige. Your wireless LAN, Internet and SIP settings
changes do not take affect until you use RESTART. |
Step 10. RESTART
All of the necessary settings for your phone to be configured
to the BroadVoice Generic SIP type account are now complete.
- Select the ‘RESTART’.
- Your new parameters
will be loaded into you phone and the phone will Register
with the BroadVoice Network.
