To save these settings, select SIP Account in the upper-left corner. Select Save in the upper-right corner. Select Done in the upper-right corner. Finally, select Settings in the lower-right corner next to the Accounts button.

  11. For Outbound Proxy, enter a proxy (city-based location) of your choice:

  12. Select Accounts and switch your account from OFF to ON, in order to start making calls. To check that there is a good registration, the SIP button on the dialer pad should be lit green (shown below). You should now be able to make calls out from your BroadVoice account using the dial pad and the SIP button or by using the Contacts or Recents buttons.

  13. To make sure you are using your Broadvoice account and not your mobile account (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, etc.), the screen during a call will appear similar to the image below:

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If the SIP button is white on the dialer pad, you may have input some of your account information incorrectly, or you may be having internet connection problems with your iPhone via WiFi.
  • Dialing international on Broadvoice is different than calling from your mobile provider (e.g. AT&T which requires one to dial +[country code]-phone number). Dial 011-country code-phone number.
  • Choosing an outbound proxy server should be by “trial and error,” unless you have a pinging utility on your iPhone or a computer on the same WiFi network which you can use to ping the different servers. The server with the shortest and most consistent ping time should be used.
