In
order to configure your Cisco ATA device to work with your
BroadVoice service, please follow these instructions to
make the necessary configuration change(s):
In this process, TFTPURL
is a required device configuration parameter. Thus you must
provide the TFTP server IP address or URL directly to the
device by means of the TFTPURL parameter as described in
this procedure.
- Follow the instructions provided with your Cisco ATA
device for proper installation of network, telephone
and power cables.
- Perform a factory reset of your Cisco ATA device to
invoke the factory default parameter settings
- Press the function button on the Cisco ATA.
- Press
the digits 3228 73738 (FACT RESET) then press
# on your telephone keypad.
- Press 3 on your telephone
keypad to confirm that you want to reset the Cisco ATA,
then hang up the phone.
- Verify the IP address used by the internal web server
on the ATA device through the IVR by depressing the
function button atop the box and selecting menu number
80#.
- You can access the web configuration page from any
graphics-capable browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer
or Netscape. This provides easy initial access to the
Cisco ATA configuration within the administrator's
private network. From the PC, open a web browser and
enter the following URL: http:/<ipaddress_of_apa>/dev.
(Example: http:/192.168.1.101/dev)
- The figure below shows an example of the Cisco ATA
web configuration page, which displays all configurable
parameters. The different colors on the screen are for
different parameter groupings. The parameters you will
need are the Purple ‘Use TFTP’ and ‘TFTPURL’ and
the pink ‘Dhcp’.
- Set the Use Tftp parameter to ‘1’.
- Set TftpURL to ‘147.135.0.32.
- Set Dhcp to ‘1’
- Click Apply to save your changes. The Cisco ATA
automatically refreshes its configuration. The ATA 186
takes 10 seconds to reconfigure itself.
- Close the web browser.
- Pick up the telephone hand set and check for dial
tone.
