BroadVoice
Call Manager
The BroadVoice Call Manager is a web-based tool you use to initiate, manipulate,
and release calls, control your BroadVoice features, as well as access your contact
directories including Microsoft Outlook. To activate the tool, log in to the
BroadVoice Portal and click the Call Manager link in the left-hand column.
The BroadVoice Call Manager uses Microsoft Active/X components to access your
directories and to store preferences so be sure you accept the downloads when
prompted so that the Call Manager functions correctly. Also, the Call Manager
may be logged out if you lose network connectivity or your PC hibernates.

Call
Forwarding Selective
Automatically forward your incoming calls to a different phone number when
pre-defined criteria, such as the phone number, time of day or day of week,
are met. Call Forwarding Selective allows you to forward specific
calls matching your pre-defined criteria to a different phone number. Use
this service to forward calls from your manager, a family member, or an
important customer to your cell phone, alternate business phone, or home
phone. The criteria for each Call Forwarding Selective entry can be a list
of up to 12 phone numbers or digit patterns, a time of day range and specified
days of the week. All criteria for an entry must be satisfied for the call
to be forwarded (phone number and day of week and time of day). If the
call is not forwarded, the call continues as if this service was not turned
on.
TIP: BroadVoice offers Selective Call Forwarding. This enables you
to specify ranges of numbers or digit patterns instead of individual phone
numbers. Digit patterns consist of a sequence of digits followed by
the * wildcard to create a range of telephone numbers. For example, 240*
would apply to any calls from phone numbers starting with 240. This is
a great service if you would like to select all calls from an entire area
code, local exchange, or even a PBX office phone system. Best of all, it's
another FREE BroadVoice service.

Calling ID Blocking
Prevent your phone number from being displayed when calling other numbers.
Calling Line ID Delivery Blocking allows you to block your number from
being shown when calling other numbers. Members of your group can still
see your number when they are called. You have the choice of turning it
on or off for all calls and then selectively turning it back on or off
using the feature access codes.
When privacy matters, turn on this feature via your BroadVoice web portal
to block delivery of your identity to all calls. You control when this
feature is on or off. When turned off you can use the *67 feature access
code directly from your phone for Calling Line ID Delivery Blocking per
Call. When this feature is turned on via your BroadVoice web portal, dial
*65 for Calling Line ID Delivery per call.
Caller ID Block helps you make discreet calls. If the party you are trying
to reach has Caller ID, they will not see your number with BroadVoice Caller
ID Block. Your call will go through seamlessly and anonymously.
In addition to being able to block your Calling Line ID on all outgoing
calls, you can also have the option of blocking on a per-call basis
by dialing the *67 feature code before making the call. Once the
call is over, Calling Line ID Delivery is restored.
With Calling Line ID Blocking enabled you can deliver your Calling
Line ID on a specific call by entering the respective feature code
(*65 default). Once the call is over, Calling Line ID Blocking is
restored. Return to top
Outlook
Integration
Outlook Integration enables you to integrate your personal contacts in
Microsoft Outlook with your BroadVoice Call Manager. Using the Outlook
Contacts tab in the BroadVoice Call Manager, you can perform a search of
your personal Outlook contacts by name or company.
Once the desired contact
is located, you may click-to-dial one of the contact's phone numbers,
or may choose to display the contact's vCard by clicking on the name.
When receiving a call, your Microsoft Outlook contact database is
searched for a match of the caller's phone number. If the number
matches, the icon next to the incoming calling name is highlighted
and rolling the mouse over it gives the caller's name. In addition,
you have the option to click the icon to open the caller's vCard.
You can have new Outlook journal entries automatically opened for
incoming and/or outgoing calls. You can choose to turn it off if
you are at a remote location using your Call Manager but do not
have access to your Outlook. The contact retrieval option allows
you to only retrieve contacts from your default contact folder for
performance reasons.

Priority Alert
Priority Alert allows
you to make your phone ring with a distinctive ring based on your pre-defined
criteria. Use this service if you want to know when a specific person calls
such as your manager or spouse, or when you would like to easily tell when
a call is from inside your group or outside your group. The criteria for
each Priority Alert entry can be a list of up to 12 phone numbers or digit
patterns, a time of day range and specified days of the week. All criteria
for an entry must be true for the phone to ring with a different tone (phone
number and day of week and time of day).

Simultaneous
Ring
Ring multiple phones simultaneously when calls are received. Simultaneous Ring
allows you to list numbers you would like to ring in addition to your business
phone when you receive a call. This feature is helpful when you are not at your
desk but you would like your cell phone to ring when you get a call. You can
also turn off simultaneous ringing when you are at your desk on a call. Warning:
if your cell phone or other phone has voice mail that picks up before your office
voice messaging picks up, your voice mails could be on your cell phone messaging
system!
